About Richard

Grew up in Redding, leaving after graduating high school to attend University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN, receiving his Bachelors of Science Degree. After attending medical school at University of California, Irvine, he completed his family practice internship in Denver, Colorado and finished his residency at Natividad Medical Center in Salinas, California. Dr. Martinez worked as a staff physician at Santa Barbara Medical Foundation clinic for five years while also working as a part-time emergency room physician at Vanderburgh AirForce Base. After leaving the clinic,he open his own family practice before joining CHW Marian Hancock Medical Group where he practiced for many years. He returned home to Redding in 1999,where he built a thriving family practice, while he and his wife have raised a family of five.
